Nokia Developer News’ Interview of Ramon Pastor

Wednesday, August 28th, 2013

Numlock’s head honcho, Ramon Pastor, was interviewed by the Nokia Developer News team. Ramon was chosen from among more than a thousand entries as one of the top ten developers to join Nokia’s Imaging SDK Team for the company’s Future/Capture Hackathon to be held in Lund, Sweden from August 30 to September 1.

Excerpts from the interview:

Q. Who will be going to the hackathon? Just you or will you be coding with someone else?

I’ll be going alone. I’m used to being a lone wolf when attending tech conferences or events.

Q. The hackathon is in Sweden, tell us what you know about Sweden apart from Abba songs?

I know that Sweden is part of the region that Vikings used to inhabit. Also, if I’m not mistaken, the story of Beowulf is set in the region. So, I expect to see a lot of fierce and proud people when I get there.

Q. How many hackathons have you been to before and which was your favorite?

I personally haven’t participated in any hackathons, but some members of my company participated in the recent Angelhack in Manila. I wasn’t able to attend since I was in San Francisco for WWDC. I’ve also been an armchair spectator in the local chapter of Startup Weekend.
