Migrating Data From WalletWhiz Lite to Paid? Easy Peasy!

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

One of the cool new features introduced in WalletWhiz 1.2 is the ability to migrate your data from the Lite version to the Paid version. We’ve made the process as hassle-free as possible, so it should be a seamless transition if you do decide to upgrade.

Just in case you’re still having difficulty with the migration, we’ve simplified the steps below for an easy transition:

1. Purchase WalletWhiz on the App Store.

If you’re following the upgrade process from within WalletWhiz Lite, you’ll notice that there’s a direct link in the App Store. Tap that and the App Store application opens. Once WalletWhiz finishes downloading, you should open WalletWhiz Lite to continue the upgrade process.

2. Once WalletWhiz Lite is open, tap “? | Upgrade to WalletWhiz” then tap “Upgrade Now”.

This will process your WalletWhiz Lite data & open WalletWhiz. Take note that an alert view will appear & ask you if you want to erase all data within WalletWhiz. Since you haven’t entered any data in WalletWhiz, feel free to tap “Yes”. Wait for the migration to complete and, voila!, all your WalletWhiz Lite data are now in WalletWhiz.

3. Default Category created

One thing you’ll notice is that a “Default” category was created during the migration process. This category contains all the transactions you entered in WalletWhiz Lite. Feel free to rename this category or create new ones; remember, you can assign your transactions to new categories by editing each transaction.

That’s it. Easy-peasy.

Why upgrade?

If you’re currently using the free version, you might be asking, “Why upgrade?” Well, WalletWhiz offers three advantages over WalletWhiz Lite:

1) Allows Categories for your transactions;
2) Supports both monthly & weekly periods.
3) Includes suggestions for description fields, with option to disable

Feel free to send us an e-mail at walletwhiz@numlock.com.ph just in case you’re having problems migrating your data. If you were able to successfully migrate your data, enjoy the upgrade!
