The 1st Philippine App Congress

The 1st Philippine Application Developers Congress presented by Globe Labs will be held on Nov. 19, 2011 at Xavier School Greenhills Grade School Lecture Hall. Numlock’s Ramon Pastor will have a session on iOS App Development during the App Congress. The other speakers are Jojo Ayson, Microsoft MVP for Windows Desktop Experience and Butch Landingin, Chief Technology Officer at Orange & Bronze.

We need more mobile developers to join our team! We are looking for Android and iOS developers or candidates with experience in an IT-related field who are willing to learn Android or iOS development.

Minimum requirements are as follows:

• Familiarity with mobile devices & technologies (iOS, Android, etc.);
• Knowledge of or desire to learn iOS (Objective-C/Cocoa) and Android development;
• Solid understanding of OOP language/framework such as Java, C#, C++.

As always, plus points:

• If you’re an Apple fanboy or passionate about the Android platform;
• You can write readable, elegant and well-documented code;
• You are creative, smart and can learn mobile programming concepts really quickly.

iOS Dev 101 by Power Mac Center. Register Now!

Power Mac Center presents iOS Development 101 with Numlock’s iOS dev and head honcho, Ramon Pastor. The presentation is an iOS primer for those who are interested in mobile app development for iOS devices (iPhone, iPad and iPod touch) and will cover the following topics:

  1. Intro to Cocoa Touch and iOS SDK;
  2. Intro to Objective-C;
  3. Intro to Frameworks: Foundation and UI Kit;
  4. Intro to Tools: Xcode 4.

The First MobileMonday™ Manila Event

Numlock co-sponsored the first Mobile Monday™ Manila event last May 9, 2011 held at BBDO Guerrero / Proximity Philippines’ offices in Insular Life Building, Makati City. Around 130 people attended the event to share ideas, network with industry peers and hear trends, news and tidbits about the mobile industry from the following speakers:

1. Manolo Almagro – Independent consultant from the US, with over 15+ years of expertise working for global brands, specializing in building revenue generating, unified customer experiences across multiple digital channels
2. Matt Briant – Sales Director of Out There Media in the Asia Pacific region
3. Gio Bacareza – Head of Broadband, Internet and Data Services at Smart Communications, Inc.
