3 Things You Can Do With DeskWhiz

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

1. Use it as a digital photo frame

You can select photos from your iPhone’s photo library to create a digital photo frame that would play in a loop. Simply access the “Add” images button by tapping the “Photos” icon in the bottom right corner of the app twice. Add the images that you would like to be displayed and tap the “Play” button to start showing your beautiful pictures. Images can be displayed in portrait or landscape mode.

2. Use it to create a music playlist

DeskWhiz can help you create a music playlist by letting you choose songs from your phone’s music library. The songs will be played in the order that you choose and in a loop. Tap the “Music” icon in the lower middle portion of the app twice to select songs. Tap the “Play” button to start playing your music playlist.

3. Use it as a desk clock

To use DeskWhiz as a desk clock, tap the “Clock” icon at the lower left portion of the app once. Date and time will be displayed. Tap anywhere on the screen to hide the clock display. Photos and music can be simultaneously played while the clock is on display but users have the option to have one static photo displayed and no music played in the app.

DeskWhiz is best used with an iPhone/iPod touch stand or dock. Enjoy!

DeskWhiz is available in the App store for $0.99.

DeskWhiz Step-by-Step

Wednesday, April 28th, 2010

Planning to purchase DeskWhiz? Just downloaded one and absolutely clueless where to start? We made a basic, step-by-step guide for you to make that first photo slideshow experience a breeze.

A. Tap the info button (the little “i” on the upper right corner) to adjust your settings.

1. Enable image editing – on the settings screen, you can adjust the amount of time each picture will show by a minimum of 2 seconds and a maximum of 10 seconds.
2. Enable image editing – allows you to adjust the size and focus of your images from your photo library before adding them to your photo slideshow. (Note: enabling this may result in pixelated images).
3. Fit images on screen – enabling this will automatically adjust the size of your images to fit the screen (disabling this will automatically adjust the images to fill the screen but may result to “zoomed in” and cropped photos).
4. Landscape mode – turning this on allows the app to rotate and display photos in landscape mode.
5. Loop music playlist – enabling this will continuously play your song list in a loop.
6. Play music on load and play slideshow on load – turning this on will automatically play both your music playlist and slideshow upon opening the app.
7. Simultaneous play – allows your music playlist to simultaneously play with your slideshow, and vice-versa, whenever either of the two is activated or played.
