1. StreetSmart became the No. 1 free navigation app in the Philippines within the first 24 hours of its availability in the App Store! Hooray! Thank you to everybody who downloaded StreetSmart for iPhone – you all made this possible.

2. StreetSmart Version 1.0 was released in the App Store on Sep. 1, 2010 with a 1.0 MB file size. What’s up with StreetSmart and the number 1 right? =)

We are happy to announce that StreetSmart for iPhone is now available for download in the App Store for FREE!

StreetSmart is a traffic app for mobile devices (Android & iOS) powered by YOU, our users. Through StreetSmart, the ability to share traffic updates and be informed of traffic situations within Metro Manila on a real-time basis is in your hands.

Excited? Here’s a summary of what you can do with StreetSmart for iPhone:

1. Report

Send traffic updates by choosing traffic load (Heavy, Moderate or Light) and entering comments in the description field. The iPhone’s GPS will be able to detect your location; if your device has a compass it will also be able to automatically detect your direction.

The blue pin shows your current location and tracks your movement on Metro Manila’s map.

Good news! StreetSmart is the winner in the Globe Challenge for Android: Messaging and Communications Category!

To those who downloaded StreetSmart for Android and sent traffic updates through Twitter, we share this recognition with you. A big THANK YOU from us at Team Numlock!

To those who beta tested StreetSmart for iPhone and sent in their comments and suggestions, you guys deserve a special and heartfelt THANKS from us! The amount of feedback on how we can improve StreetSmart app has just been overwhelming. Again, a big, big THANK YOU.

Even though the competition’s over, there are lots of things to look forward to in StreetSmart: an update for Android, a public release for iPhone and a few enhancements that will hopefully make your StreetSmart app user experience more intuitive.

Good news! StreetSmart can now be accessed by a wider network of mobile phone users! Here are 5 ways you can view and share traffic reports using StreetSmart:

1. StreetSmart for Android Devices – Download StreetSmart for Android from Globe’s website for FREE. [Update: StreetSmart is the winner in the Globe Challenge For Android 2010, Messaging and Communications Category]. Read about our Step-by-Step Guide for Android users.

2. StreetSmart for iPhone – Download StreetSmart for iPhone from the App Store for FREE. Here’s a summary of what you can do with StreetSmart for iPhone.

To get you acquainted with your new traffic app, we’ve outlined the following step-by-step guide:

Once launched, you can either view the comments accompanying submitted traffic reports by tapping on the pins or you can start submitting your own by tapping the “Report Traffic” button on the screen.
